What can we say about Tan Hill Inn?

At 1732 ft above sea level its Britains highest pub, its so old that the site is recorded in the doomsday book. It was reputed to be haunted 300 years ago, it has a roaring coal fire, serves real ale, Theaksons & Black sheep, good food and has a variety of livestock running around the bar, oh yes, and its the best place in the world (words of my 3 year old daughter).

TOUR 1.

Our tour starts at the pub and heads off towards Keld taking in some fine views of Bowes moor.
We head along into Swaledale past the waterfalls along a beautiful road which follows the river through the rocky craggs.
Into cumbria along vast expances of rolling moorland where the views of the hills and mountains as the light constantly changes are breath taking. On into Kirby Stephen and towards Barras before coming full circle through the Yorkshire National Park and back to theTan Hill Inn.
Spectacular views of Swaledale, Cumbria, the Eden Valley, Bowes moor and the Yorkshire National Park.

The aincient fishing port & popular holiday resort of Whitby is considered by many to be the jewel in the crown of North Yorkshire , its legendary connections with Dracula are world famous and also its connections with Captain Cook and the Endeavour which sailed from here in 1768.
On this beautiful tour we visit Whiby, Pickering, Guisborough, Helmsley & Goathland, famous setting of the 'Heartbeat' TV series.

Blakey Ridge & the Lion Inn, North Yorkshire moors

New for 2012 we are delighted to offer this tour to one of the most famous pubs on the North Yorkshire moors.

Starting this tour in the market town of Northallerton or Stokesley we take a ride through the North Yorkshire moors, Thirsk then up Sutton bank and on to Helmsley.
Then we cruise over the black ridge (blakey ridge) before stopping for an hour at one of the very best pubs in Yorkshire, the remote Lion Inn perched high on the ridge. Real Ale , great food & a roaring fire, we couldnt ask for more.
Fed & watered we continue our journey across the moors, in sight of the sea, through beautiful countryside and homeward bound.
