• Weardale & Teesdale tour £150.00

    A fantastic ride for 2 through the Durham dales over the highest road in England, through Upper Teesdale past High force, Englands largest waterfall.

    We start this 2 hour trike tour from our base just off the A68 , Bradley Burn Farm shop near Wolsingham, 20 minutes from Durham City.

    As we begin the tour we pass through the picturesque market town of Wolsingham, then through beautiful countryside up to Stanhope, capital of Weardale and the hunting grounds of the Prince Bishops.

    The roads then sweeps along through the beautiful villages of Weardale ,following the river Wear through to the village of St Johns Chapel.

    From there we go over the tops of Harthope fell (highest road in England) as we climb higher and higher on the stunning moor with views into Cumbria & Yorkshire and you can feel the air changing as we pass into Teesdale looking down on the river Tees & Langdon Beck.

    Heading towards Middleton in Teesdale through the remote valleys of Upper Teesdale once owned by Eric Bloodaxe, the viking, we pass High Force, the largest waterfall in England, Newbiggin, Low Force then into the sleepy market town of Middleton-in-Teesdale, past Egglestone Hall, taking in the wonderful scenery of Teesdale, through to Romaldkirk , past the 'cathederal of the dales' with its 'devils door '.

    The road sweeps along through Cotherstone as we eat up the miles effortlessly on the trike until we come to Barnard Castle , once home of the King of Scotland and did you know Oliver Cromwel and Charles Dickens stayed here too before coming to Egglestone abbey..

    After riding through the Market town we then cruise across the vast open expances of the open moor through the sleepy hamlets taking in the breath taking veiws until we reach Hamsterley Forest.

    The road climbs again and takes us high above Wolsingham in Weardale, looking down on the valley the views are spectacular.

    We are then heading towards the end of this fantastic jouney as we follow the river Wear and Weardale railway along until we reach home.
